Ideas for a Website to Earn Money on the Internet
Think of an idea for your web site - something you already know a lot about; a hobby; a job; a skill; a source of information; a fan site; ...
First, do not think that you will find a unique idea for a web site. There are billions of sites already and you will be lucky to find a new idea. But that
does not matter - competition is ok.
For your site to be successful you will need to promote it so that the world will see it. Then, if your site is of good quality, people will come back and
visit again and again.
Good quality means a lot of information on your topic, well presented so that the visitor can understand what you are saying, accurate and easy to navigate
from page to page.
Everybody knows something more about one subject than all others. Pick that subject for your web site.
Then make it your mission that your site will be the best and most comprehensive source of information on that topic.
Search the web for information on the subject. Use Google to sift the information and have a separate folder on your computer called 'Research' where you
store all the data. Read books you have at home on the topic. Go to the library and get more information. You will find that years after your website is up and running you will
continue to find gems of information to place in this folder and upgrade your web pages and keep them fresh
Subscribe to Wordtracker and they will email you each month a list of the top 300 keywords
used by the public in the last two days in search strings on the top search engines. The Sktool by Google will
show you how many times your chosen search string (the words you type into a search is called a 'string') has been Googled in the last month. This helps you decide the domain name
of your site and the title of each page.
I repeat - it does not matter that there are other sites on the Net that cover the same subject as you. That is healthy competition. Just make sure your site
is the best.
The subject of your web site does not have to be just about making money to make money. The topic can be anything. You can then choose the type of advertising
to suit your content or let the advertising company do the selection for you.
Do not make a web page with only 50 banners and a few YouTube linked videos on it. Such a web page has no keyword content, takes too long to load and will
never get quality traffic.
